    Question re damp floor

Thanks for the reply Matt. Is the liquid dpm you can get in Wickes/B & Q good enough or does it need to a more specalist product? Is it just painted on the surface or do I have to dig down and re-lay that part of floor as suggested in your sticky post? I'll be putting carpet down so I don't want...

    Question re damp floor

Hi Guys, Ex-council house with a concrete floor (red colour? don't know why). In the area of the outside corner the red concrete has been dug up and replaced and re-laid (I'm guessing due to settlement??). This concrete is damp and salty! Any advice about options? I don't know if there's a...

    Setting deck posts

Hi, Am building a deck and was intending to set the support posts in concrete but have been advised by the timber merchant I bought the wood from that I should use spiked metposts as it's easier. I'm not convinced these would give enough support. Anyone used these on a deck?

Hot tap - left or right or doesn't really matter?

Downstairs my hot tap is on the left. Currently in the bathroom it's on the right but when I change the wash basin should I change it or not? I thought it had to be on the left. Cheers

    Rerouting sewer

I'm thinking of building a small extension for a wc and small utility room at the back of the house. Radiator cold at bottom warm up top. Ideas?

I always thought that the rads needed bleeding when it was the other way round (ie cold at top warm down bottom) but not too sure. Will give it a go anyhow! Cheers

Radiator cold at bottom warm up top. Ideas?

Relatively new boiler (6 months or so) rads are warm up top but cold at the bottom. When boiler was installed I was told they'd flushed through the system to remove any sludge. Installer is now increasingly difficult to contact. Anyone got any ideas. Cheers
