    Jewsons do a plaster board adhesive wich is good and i would use 12mm 8x4 tappered boards then tape and joint using scrim tape and gyproc easy fill (available from brewers or dulux decorating centres) so theres no need to plaster.

    You need to use a flexible adhesive for wooden floors. i would go to a good tile shop and they wil sort you out with the materials Remember to add adflex to the grout also from the tile shop. good luck

    Try to pull the face of the paper off first and then wet the backing paper. Dont use a scraper that is to sharp as this will damage the boards. steer clear of steam strippers.

    if you really abrade the surface with a heavyish sand paper and use a good quality tile adhesive should do the trick. Ask your local, good quality tile shop (not tiles are us) numpties.

    you should use gyproc 12mm thick board and they come in varios sizes, 1.8x90, 2.4x1.2, 3x1.2 so select right hieght for job as for the floor about 3 weeks should do, you can hire damp testers for a pitance from any hire shop to be sure.
