How to Adjust the hanging of this is double glazed aluminium door

My aluminium double glazed kitchen door worked well this winter, but last summer and now that the weather is a few degrees warmer, the bottom of the door catches on its lower frame when I open or close the door. To adjust the door to fix this, I am wondering if I can adjust the three hinges in...

Do I need a new Top Oven Thermostat - Hotpoint DW53WS electric

The top oven of our oven only comes on when the temperature dial is set at 140c or higher. I'm guessing that means the thermostat needs replacing. Could it be anything else?

Soft close drawers close too fast

My "soft-close" bedside cabinets close too quickly and with a loud bang. Rubber pads don't help. I cannot see the manufacturer's name nor any way to get to the mechanism. These are solidly built cabinets. I don't know how to fix this.

Are these hinges on my aluminium doors adjustable?

The bottom of my 22 year old double glazed aluminium rear door catches the metal frame when it closes. And my UPVC front porch door, which has the same type of hinges, needs realigning. What are these type of hinges called. If they are adjustable, how is that done. Any tips would be appreciated.

How do I set the two programmers on my CH+HW system

The CH+HW system in my new home has a programmable room stat (a Honeywell CM921) downstairs and a 7 day programmer (a Honeywell ST6400c) upstairs in the airing cupboard housing the HW cylinder. I'm wondering how best to set the CH on periods for the times I choose. For example, is it best to...

Miele Dishwasher G1143sc - how to dismantle /remove lower rear panel

https://www.flickr.com/photos/27466575@N03/51067975588/in/dateposted-public/ I am replacing the Inlet Hose with its built-in valve (Aquastop). So far I've removed the rear, side and (outer only) rear panels. But the Inlet hose connects inside the machine. I think I need to get behind the...

Bosch Dishwasher - often stops when filling, bangs then stops

I thought I'd found a cause, or at least a symptom, with my G1143sc dishwasher which usually stops soon after the cycle starts. The attached video shows the problem, water starts to fill, then it stops and a banging noise is heard: I've kept the video short so it shows the fault happening only...

Miele Dishwasher G1143 SC - inlet(?) banging + Inlet / Drain lamp warning

Miele Dishwasher G1143 SC - inlet(?) banging + Inlet / Drain lamp warning When initially filling and again about an hour later (I'm guessing when the rinse cycle starts) , the dishwasher makes a banging noise. The flowing sound of water stops suddenly like a "glottal stop" making a kind of...

How to fix this gap please

The handle of my UPVC patio door wouldn't lift up far enough to allow me to lock the door with the key. So, I played around with the Vertical, Lateral and Compression bolts that are part of the Trojan Patriot 3D Flag hinges. The vertical adjustment fixed it, so the door now closes and locks very...

    110v v 220-240 v PSU - the rationale?

Commercial and trade operators usually use 110v power tools. Some comments say the reason is that the lower voltage reduces the impact of an electric shock. On it's own, that makes sense. However, I thought that: (1) it's more the current (amps) that kill (2) Using a transformer to reduce 220v...

Hive - install receiver with Worcester cdi boiler

I want to install a Hive receiver with a Worcester Greenstar CDI combi boiler. At present there is no Programmer installed and no room stat connected. So the boiler is either on or off with the temperature in each room only controlled by TRVs (where fitted). This is a new build really, and this...

What does the adjustment of these do?

I'm adjusting my UPVC door. The (flag) hinge adjustments were logical and worked easily. But at the side of the door, there are some knobs (highlighted on the attached) that rise up as part of the multi-point locking mechanism when the door handle is operated. Presumably that's to hold the door...
