Hi. I need to replace a section of ceiling plaster damaged by a leak. Before I cut it out just wanted to check it's safe (i.e. no asbestos). Pics attached, hope they're clear enough. Doesn't really look fibrous but darker in colour than other plasterboard materials I've come across and not sure...

More unidentified pipe lagging in my undercroft. Please see pic below - what is this stuff? Any chance it contains asbestos? Or is it some sort of mineral wool? Any advice welcome!

Thanks. There are more pics here if it helps. Most of the images I found on the web did look like some form of plaster, but I also found this and another image which looked a bit more like what I have. That said, they still look a lot more dense and fibrous and less foam like. Any more views...

Thanks for the quick reply Nige F. It also looked a bit like foam to my untrained eye, but I didn't know it could decay like that.

I'm new to the forum so apologies for any daft questions. Was clearing out my undercroft the other day and came across what looks like some old pipe insulation. Photos attached, brown in colour, there are bits of it all over the place so must break up easily. Don't know how long it's been there...
