Thanks Mr Chibs. PVA will re-activate it if gets wet. Don't really want to have to undercoat/prime and then paint gloss on the back of the skirting board that won't be seen. Would like to paint a good wood sealer and be done, but which wood sealer would be best for the job I guess is my question.

It's an old house, and will never be entirely bone dry. thy'll be in the kitchen and also the bathroom.

I want to fit new skirting boards, likely MDF, but want to seal the backs and bottom against moisture. I'll paint the front obvs. What sealant would you recommend I use please? thanks!

A water based eggshell paint based on a pure Acrylic Emulsion resin with Titanium Dioxide

So I've painted woodwork with Dulux Professional undercoat, oil based, though I intend to paint with emulsion. Bit of a mistake. I'm thinking I'd need to prime this when its dry for a good emulsion bond. I have some Setcrete acrylic primer here, will this do the trick??

I'll have to check out where the DPC is on the extension tomorrow. I think it was built in the 70's. I don't think the pics will much help at the mo dazlight, of the room. Still being used as a bathroom as we renovate. The floor is pretty smooth in this room and the rest of the extension so...

That makes sense dazlight, thanks. I'll not fit any skirting boards in that room, though the wall/plaster will continue to bridge with the floor. Any suggestions to resolve?

thanks Johnny, very good question. See pic below. 'old' is how the walls. plaster, and floor all interface. Not very sensible. 'new' is after removal of old lime plaster, some liquid DPM and fresh concrete and plaster. I can see holes along the walls where damp proofing has been injected...

I've got 10 bags of Mapei self levelling screed dazlight, I'm thinking Na, DPM1c and the mapei as final coat. Whats the best primer to use on the DPM1c to get a screed to bond? really appreciate your advice mate, cheers
