Thanks for your input, have discovered the guy has fitted the pump upside down, nice and warm now !

Potterton Profile 40e worked well for years, fitted new pump to the system and the boiler stopped after about an hour. Boiler will rum if the little overheat switch is pressed underneath. Have replaced main and overheat stat to no avail. Getting cold, help !
