Thanks for your suggestion and Yes I would leave to an expert...not ready to die yet :D
I say it's 10mm as that's what's written on the cert which the EB did. Visually, it is a monster of a cable close up and a bugger to bend.
Maybe I can take a picture at the weekend but quite sure we...
Ban, Steve, PoD,
Thanks for all your responses. I hope this helps
I have the certificate the elec board signed off when the shower was being installed but haven't had any further checks.
I have the main Consumer Unit with RCD protection and the the shower MCB is separate as there weren't any spare blocks. Yes it is a plug-in type of fuse.
Hi there,
10 years ago we had a 10KW shower installed using 10mm cable with a switched 40A MCB (Wylex). The installation was signed off by elec. board. I'm in the process of replacing with 9.8KW Mira Azora.
1) Now, am I ok leaving the 40A fuse with a new 9.8KW shower? (The ratings on new...
Having drawn and stared at the current wiring for days ( ) I think that actually makes sense to me :)
It doesn't have the 3 amp fuse anywhere so that will be my first port of call!
Thank you guys for taking the time to give advice I really appreciate it.
Actually something just struck me (lost a couple of brain cells last night!!) ...I can currently switch my CH and HW independently but the EP2000 doesn't allow me to set On/Off times independently....sorry I didn't clarify this earlier.
I am assuming then my system is ok and does just need a...
ahh didn't know that.
I do have a gravity system I think - boiler downstairs and hot water cylinder upstairs in loft. There is a pump for CH with 2 zone valves.
Does that mean I'll never be able to have CH and HW independent without replumbing?
Thanks again. I was confused as the earth wire from the room stat was connected to the Live and I have never seen that - but it makes sense.
Well it's too cold to attempt the change so I will wait for some warmer weather! If anyone comes across a wiring diagram for the EP2000 I would...
Thanks bab...another question...I have typical Blue, Brown and Earth wires coming out of the Room thermostat and Cyl. Stat yet in the diagram I see 1,2,3 and 1,2,C. Which one would map to L, N and Earth?
Many thanks for your responses so far:)
No, this one has a N block on the left and an Earth block on the right most. In between it has:
A, B, C, D, N, L, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
A,B 1,2 and 5 don't have any wires connected.
I think this must be one of the first models from the 80's!!
Firstly I have gone through all the related posts and now more confused!! Has anyone attempted to do a similar replacement?
I have opened the EP2000 programmer and drawn the existing connections and also same with the white connection box near the 2 valves so I can go back if necessary!! I...
