    Yes, Mottie and catlad, I own the loft space above my flat and three neighbouring ones. It's a 1930s building. The problem is there's only one access point in the neighbouring ones, with walls diving me from them.

    Yes, I could do that, JohnD... It would be be behind my bed, which is annoying and there may be brickwork behind the panelling, but I'm thinking it's the only option.
