Thanks Ant1 for this thread. Over a year later this helped me solve a related issue with a 3.5" soil pipe solvent welded to a 110mm pan connector. In my case the rubber seal had gone hard. I sourced a replacement seal from a nearby Wolseley branch Just removed the old one and fitted the new...
