How do I finish this internal angle on uPVC windows

We had new windows fitted and this bit of upvc between the bay windows doesn't have a great finish on it. Looks about 100mm wide, and just fills the gap between the windows, but the silicone is splitting already. Is there a better way to finish this? Something that flexes down the middle? Or use...

What's my options with these brutalised stairs?

I removed the carpet from the stairs in our new/old house and, as suspected, the bottom three stairs aren't in great shape at all. There was a chair lift in here at one time, and the installers have just ripped through the treads to get a straight edge. How challenging would these be to replace?

Concrete cill width in comparison to uPVC door.

I've got a french door due to get installed, but due to a mix up, I now have a uPVC door at 1590mm width and a concrete cill at 1500mm. The way the opening is cut, it's looking like the door is going to overhang the cill by about 1cm at one side, and 8cm at the other. My question is, should the...

French door opening and concrete cill issue.

I'm currently enduring a drawn out saga with a builder who's meant to be fitting a french door to the rear of our house. He's cut the opening for the door but, by his own admission, he's messed up the measurements (he had to change the lintels he fitted because there was inadequate bearing at...

Is this mold on this rough sawn timber? Is it safe to use internally?

It's rough sawn, which is also pretty wet from lying in the builders yard.

Got a 1920s slate roof replaced with a new tile roof. These patches are evident in the eaves - is it condensation?

    Insulating this tricky space.

Any advice on what technique/materials to insulate this awkward space? It's in the eaves and this space is pretty much all there is between my neighbour's and I.

Foil backed plasterboard onto insulation panels.

I have eaves in my bedroom and adjoining bathroom that I have removed the old lathe and plaster from (1920s property). Before I sheet them up and plaster I'm planning on fitting 50mm insulating panels into the rafters (100mm deep, so leaving 50mm for air flow/ventilation). Advice i've also had...

    Strengthening/cutting out old burnt wood.

Hi, first post on here. Anytime I search for any DIY info I usually get sent to this forum, so I figured this is a good place to start. I've recently purchased a nice old 1920's semi detached that's needing a LOT of work done to it. Our 'forever home'. After stripping the wallpaper in one of the...
