Vaillant VR71, SensoComfort and NetSensor Gateway initial set up

So the curve has dropped further still and is at 1.68. Can someone tell me, is this the system refining it's assumptions about how long/how much energy it takes to heat the house or is this because the outside temperature is getting warmer it's decreasing the curve automatically? I.e. By...

Vaillant VR71, SensoComfort and NetSensor Gateway initial set up

Yeah am using adaptive. We only have the main sensocomfort controller acting as a thermostat so it's not ideal. Will see how it goes for now and will look to reduce the curve manually as time goes on. I'm updating the thread as a guide for others too. The literature out there isn't great on how...

Vaillant VR71, SensoComfort and NetSensor Gateway initial set up

Is your house a new build/really good insulation? I'm assuming that if the system can move lower it will with time. When the weather warms up I'll be more inclined to be more aggressive with it.

Vaillant VR71, SensoComfort and NetSensor Gateway initial set up

Ok, it's now been just over a week since we've had it all installed. The weather compensation curve has now automatically dropped down to 2.1. Really happy with the upgrade. Boiler flow temps are regularly under 40-50 degrees, and if we do require a boost, the system is much more responsive. The...

Vaillant VR71, SensoComfort and NetSensor Gateway initial set up

This was the default set up on the sensocomfort. I didn’t quite follow your recommendation. Can you elaborate please? How often are you heating your cylinder for?

Vaillant VR71, SensoComfort and NetSensor Gateway initial set up

Just as feedback for anyone else interested. It’s been a couple of days since I refined the set up thanks to the helpful instructions above. I just double checked the curve and it’s been moved down to 2.5 automatically from the 2.6 that valiant tech told me to use initially. Now I’m not sure if...

Vaillant VR71, SensoComfort and NetSensor Gateway initial set up

I bought it for the additional expandability in the future. I'll be looking for a loft conversion and a possible extension, so figured this would be the easier route for future expansion. Additional thoughts on the app is that it's not great, but it is functional, so it's ok. I intend to go...

Vaillant VR71, SensoComfort and NetSensor Gateway initial set up

This is invaluable thank you. I switched off eco as you said for the set back and also turned on adaptive. One question, how do you handle the hot water side? We have a fairly large cylinder but it's just the two of us here. We have legionella protection on. What sort of cylinder temps can you...

Stovax Stockton Back Boiler issues... can it be upgraded?

@oldbutnotdead Thank you for your reply. Yeah there's water. We checked yesterday. We bled the rads again, and the rear of the stove. Also checked the tank. Thing is, once it's plumbed in, it's a bugger to take out. Just wondering if anyone's has ever modified theirs or knows of a swap in unit...

Vaillant VR71, SensoComfort and NetSensor Gateway initial set up

Hi @ScottishGasMan Thank you for your reply! I checked this morning on the menu. I couldn't find the setting you're referring to. Is it the setting under Room temp. mod? I currently have that set to Expanded as per Vaillant's tech support. Should I switch this to Active or am I missing another...

Stovax Stockton Back Boiler issues... can it be upgraded?

Hi there, I have a Stovax Stockton HB11, but it's hardly outputting any heat at all into the water system behind it. It's almost as if the heat exchanger is just really undersized, or I could have a blockage. Either way, do you know someone in the essex area that could potentially...

Vaillant VR71, SensoComfort and NetSensor Gateway initial set up

Just had boiler controller upgraded: Existing Ecotec 637 plus. We installed a VR71 / SensoComfort VRC720f / NetSensor Gateway Everything appears to be working. Tech support recommended system diagram 2 (we have single heating and HW circuits). We also added a second circulation pump. They...

Vaillant Smart control - are my assumptions correct?

It's a 4 bedroom detached, with about 7 rads on it. The whole house has been renovated almost with commercial/industrial level bits and pieces. I have a diesel back up generator the size of a Nissan micra, 3 phase etc. I just want everything set up efficiently and if necessary tuned downwards...

Vaillant Smart control - are my assumptions correct?

Got it. Thanks for that. The UFH is indeed for another time (year!), just want to get a handle on the current set up and get things running better. If we can get the single heating zone and HW set up correctly, I'll be chuffed. I've never had a secondary pump before, but it appears to have...

Vaillant Smart control - are my assumptions correct?

Thats brilliant @emerylloyd Just what I was hoping for. I did have a couple of follow ups if ok. I was under the impression that the wireless external sensor would take care of the weather comp, how would using a VR11 internally benefit the set up? I'm a few steps behind but trying to catch...

Vaillant Smart control - are my assumptions correct?

Just took over a new property that has an EcoTEC pure 637 installed, separate HW cylinder, honeywell Evo home programmer (t6). I'm upgrading and have bought the following items after doing a bit of research and would like to get some confirmation of my assumptions: Purchased: VR71 - I have a...
