    just a thought, what output is the shower? is the switch a square 40A one? wouldn't be the first i've come across with a 10.5 Kw shower on a 40A pull switch and yes they are usually toasted!!

    Secure I understand now. Yes they work as they should on x1/2, x1 & x5 Tests as said it was questioned by a couple both I believe are trying it on to lower the offer price! Final full tests to be done when i have time.

    CU1 is a Hager and CU2 is a British General Nexus CU MCB's have been changed to suitable sizes but otherwise as supplied from BG Nexus

    correct the boiler is dual powered and has a high 32A input for the heat element (10mm T&E) and a low 5A for controls (2.5 T&E) and is clearly marked as having 2 power sources

    thanks yes I thought the 63A was a tad close and yes it is a type B MCB as I stated the chances of everything ever being on load is highly unlikely and it has never tripped in 2 years yes it needs signing off hence trying to get the definitive answer as its my father in laws place we built...

    so you have 10 rads? each rad needs approx 1.5 KW so thats 15 Kw your boiler is 28kw? think the problem lies elsewhere!! the boiler is perfectly sized in my opinion, maybe radiator sizes are wrong as the installer just used "what he usually uses" and didn't size them for more than 1 outside...
