Thanks ratm, Yea they do come on, but just fail to flash, sometimes. I have just found out the relay is behind the hazard switch, so I will have a go at replacing it. Strangely enough, since I posted this, they have worked perfectly. :roll:

Hi all, I have a 1999 Passat 20v Sport and the indicators will only work properly sometimes. Most of the time they won't flash, like if the flasher unit is no good. I'm not sure if it is the flasher unit because I think they wouldn't work full stop. Infact I'm not sure if cars have flasher...
