HOW DO YOU PUT A LIGHT SWITCH BACK TOGETHER

No need to pay 1.25 in a shed, poundland had some in the other day.

    how 3 phase works.

It has to be an odd number of phases, a five phase system would be marginally better than three phase, but more complicated. Seven phase even better.

    Generator - Basics question.

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES CREATE A CABLE WITH A PLUG ON BOTH ENDS. This is obviously not the correct way to go about this, you would be massively cutting corners in terms of safety. If you make a cable with two plugs on it, anyone could come along and plug one end in and switch it on...

    Light Fuse

5 or 6A would be the correct fuse. Can you confirm whether you have an integral garage or is it a separate building from the house?

    taking out a socket

    That's what i mean, yes.

    taking out a socket

Yes. Join the wires together with crimps or choc-blocks. Make sure you leave the pattress earthed though if it's metal.

    Removing/replacing telephone junction box?

Your best option might be a flush box with a rear entry, in place of the junction box. The current faceplate could be reused.

    Overloaded my sockets?

You don't specify whether your printer is inkjet or laser; whilst it's rare for inkjets to draw over 1A at a time, lasers can use 3-4A and it's important to check that you don't overload an extension block (Three computers and a laser nearly did for me)

Total harmonisation doesn't ever seem a likely prospect, plugs and all that...

    Maximum current through RCD.

Does connecting to the MET mean running a separate earth line from the Marquee frame straight back to the spike next to the generator (30m away)? I've heard that this cable should be as large as possible, am I looking at a 10mm^2 line? Am I right in thinking that this is something that not all...

    Maximum current through RCD.

Thanks for the reminder, I'd forgotten about the separate RCDs. Probably will go for something like: [code:1] -- RCD --- 6A MCB --- Lights ¦ Supply --- Main Isolator --- 16A MCB ---...

    Maximum current through RCD.

The generator will have an earth spike connected to it's frame. One earth for the whole system, making it TN-S (as far as I know). I'm planning to connect the frame of the (aluminium) marquee that the genny supplies to the same earth. Can you confirm this as correct? I've changed my mind...

IP68 Stuffing Glands and 2.5mm^2 Arctic cable all the way.

    Maximum current through RCD.

I'm certainly going to investigate what's at the other end with the site owner. For another part of the site, we're using a small (4kw) generator. I need to protect the generator from overcurrent, I'm pretty sure that the best way to do this is use a CU type box, with a 16A MCB, (feeding a 6A...

    consumer unit fuse to mcb

Yes (Although I'm not quite sure how you go about getting a replacement cover.)

    Maximum current through RCD.

I have seen lots of cables for sale on online auctions, sold as suitable for use when camping, which have a 16A plug for a Caravan type outlet, and then one or more non-RCD protected 13A sockets at the other end. I'm reliably informed that BS7671, section 608, requires a 30mA RCD to be...

fish house electrics NIC needed pls

NIC don't do the regs. Even though they might wish it was true, they don't have absolute power. The regs are all done by the Institute of Electrical Engineers.

want to make pool table light temporary

Sorry, perhaps I wasn't sufficiently clear. I was referring to 13A plug and socket. The plug in ceiling rose is a perfectly valid option.
