Shorn don't despair! I just spent 3 days trying to sort out the same prob. I have had intermittant probs with our jimny losing water and boiling over. Tried various ploys in the past but I think I got it this time :D . It seems to be down to the wrong Radiator Cap or it has weakened with age...
