Thought I'd share this.
Get a call from a lady saying that everytime she uses the shower there's a horrible electrical burning smell.
I visit her and check everything out looking for obvious bad connections in shower, isolation switch and CU.
Nothing untoward found so test IR Zs etc no...
I've just been told that the FCU my assistant installed must be 2 metres away from a gas supply.
I think 2 metres is the maximum distance for safe isolation, but Gas fitter insisted on it being minimum.
Who is right?

The flex going down the wall was connected to socket at 45 deg
The flex on right went into a stud wall and then emerged adjacent to an extractor fan.
The back box was covered by a blanking plate
