how sure can you be about the pump, this was checked and seemed to be spinning strongly? The boiler will run for several minutes and start to heat the rads and then cuts out to L9 (pressure gauge also fluctuates eractically up and down). Its driving me crazy!!

    Pressure gauge faulty?

not all boilers have a built in pressure sensor, if not they will possibly have an over heat stat to sense the circulation loss and heat gain.

    Ravenheat RSF 820/20

You do need a special key that you can get from any hardware store etc. or even a neighbour. You only need to undo this valve slightly until air is released, then close when water arrives. As for the timer you will probably need a new one.

    Need to change boiler.

if you want to go all efficient then look at getting a megaflo hot tank or similar. This provides excellant heat up times with great pressure to hot taps. No need for shower pumps. These tanks also are stainless steel with 25yr guarantee on corrosion. Cheers Nick

    Ravenheat RSF 820/20

    1) The ideal pressure is 1-1.5 bar. The way to increase this is: Under the boiler there should be a braided silver hose with a valve on each end. You may need a flat head screw driver if it has no handle. Open the valve or valves if one at each end of hose and you should then hear water...
