:D ah yes... every aussie plug I've seen is moulded and don't have fuses (which is why you always end up blowing a fuse and losing power if you have too many things going at once... all foreign to a woman let alone being 'allowed' to do it!). btw - It's connected to a lamp. Thanks again

Thanks for the replies. Have cut the cord and there are only two colours - blue and brown (ie no earth wire). I presume I just fit these two and hope it will work without the earth wire? The old aussie plug only had 2 prongs instead of the usual three. :)

Does anyone know how to convert appliances with an Australian plug to UK plugs - in particular those which come with manufacturer fitted plugs (ie can't unscrew them). Thanks
