Require a Simple answer from one who knows

Hello, I'm going to install an integrated Dishwasher for a friend. I need to do as cheaply as possible. She already has a Washing Machine plumbed into the Cold feed and u-bend under the sink. I wanted to double this up to serve the dishwasher. I've found a double inlet adapter so thats all...

Air in Rads... It's not what you think

OK brilliant, I'll go for that. Should I take out the whole area or just at the junction with vent & pump feed?

Air in Rads... It's not what you think

Bingo!! Good thinking, Thanks for that 45yearsagasman. I have done what you said to do with a magnet and there was no more attraction in that part of the piping than anywhere else. Do you have anything else to try? Thank you

Air in Rads... It's not what you think

That suggests that the water level is higher than before you drained it. Not sure how that can be unless you've moved the tank or changed the ball cock. Can you elaborate on how the tank being fuller could cause it. I'm not taking the p*£%, I'm just new to the DIY scene.

Air in Rads... It's not what you think

Thanks for your response. I see what you mean, if the pump draws equally from the boiler feed/vent 'T' then I see how the water/air in the vent would be sucked in (Least resistance etc) I've been to Wickes & B&Q and neither sell Magnets, unless I want a kitchen. Also the pipes concerned...

Air in Rads... It's not what you think

Hello, I believe my central heating is sucking air in through the vent pipe. I am having to bleed 2 or 3 of my rads almost every week. Yesterday I decided to trace the source of the leak. Each time the pump kicks in there is a rush of air that fizzes through it after a few seconds. Up in the...

    Faulty heating at christmas

Cheers Mate, I have turned off the HW and all but one rad. I was told that if there was any air in the system then this would flush it out. It was the furthest one that I left on then worked backwards. When downstairs were all on they were piping hot but when I turned the upstairs back on...

    Faulty heating at christmas

I did read somwhere that I could try to turn it with a flathead screwdriver but I only have a bolt shaped blanking plate in the centre. What would you recommend I do to test it?

    Faulty heating at christmas

If I put my hand on the pump it vibrates like something inside it is off centre, when I slow it, it vibrates more slowley. Sorry, I've just realised how stupid that sounds out loud. Is it likely to be the pump then?

    Faulty heating at christmas

Thanks for your reply, The pump is very hot, too hot to hold your hand on. The pipe to the cylinder is very slightly hotter but really not a lot When I bled the rads in the summer the water was clear. Sentinel x100 inhibitor is in it Up intill about a month ago they were all red...
