    Replacing Light switches 10AX, 6AX/20AX ???

Not sure what the X is for either, but you can replace the first switch with a standard intermidiate switch. You won't be able to buy a double intermidiate switch for the second one, you will need to replace like for like in a modular range, known as grid switches. The current rating on the...

    Redring Powerstream

You probably won't notice any problems if the shower, in normal use, is run for 5-10 mins. But if your son were to accidently leave the shower running for any reason you could be in trouble. I would recommend that you get the cable upgraded, 10mm should do it. This would also ensure that the...

    Hot water in header tank

No i haven't noticed any discolouration in the hot water, but that may be because the system has been flushed a couple of times and the system water is fairly clean. I guess there's no easy way to tell if the coil is perforated. It might just as well be rocket science at the moment!

    2 Light fiitting wires

In your old light, can you remember if the 2 black wires were connected together in the same terminal? or were they connected in separate terminals? If they were in separate terminals, then one of the blacks is a live switch wire that returns from the lightswitch. You have 2 cables poking...

    Redring Powerstream

Depends on how long the cable run is from the consumer unit, and where it is in the house, i.e. clipped to the surface, or under the floorboards, or buried in loft insulation. The cable will get hot if the shower is left running for a period of time and could present a fire risk.

    2 Light fiitting wires

Have you managed to get the new light to work? Be careful, you may not have 2 lives and 2 nuetrals, one of the black wires could be a live switch wire.

    Hot water in header tank

I think I have got all the air from the system. Some of the other posts to this site talk about the coil inside the cylinder leaking, would that cause hot water to discharge into the header tank?

    Hot water in header tank

Just moved house and the heating system doen't work properly. When heating has been on for about 10 mins, the boiler clunks and bangs and hot water is discharged into header tank, it then sucks air into the system. It's an open system, fully pumped with 3-way valve. I have checked the pump and...
