Water pipes in a concrete floor

We have a ground floor bathroom in an extension built in about 2003. The house is on a slope so the floor at the back is below ground level. I'm trying to fit a free-standing tap - ideally it would mount below ground level, but I'm willing to build a small plinth to accommodate the base if...

Leaking Diverter valve on an Ideal Isar m30100 boiler

In fairness the diverter valve only came into it because the boiler started leaking. Could be an unfortunate coincidence, the house had been empty for a month, but it wasn't part of the safety inspection except that we had to turn on the hot water to spark up the boiler..

Leaking Diverter valve on an Ideal Isar m30100 boiler

During a gas safety certificate inspection the plumber found a leak from the diverter valve on this boiler. He suggested a new boiler and asked whether we had insurance cover (we don't). He now says that his suppliers can no longer source spare parts for this particular boiler. I'm having no...

    Removing Laguna brake disc

    Removing Laguna brake disc

OK, that's a thought, if a bit scary! But if the disc seems to be almost welded to the hub as it is, is it going to shatter and leave some bits stuck to the hub anyway? Or, I should say, might it...? I suppose I might be able to get at the joint then though. I won't be able to get to this...

    Removing Laguna brake disc

I'm changing the front brake discs on my 98 Laguna. I've done one side, but the other's giving me problems. I've removed the two disc retaining screws but the disc just will not come off. There are traces of Copaslip around the centre of it, I don't know whether that would form some kind of...
