Leaking seal - toilet cistern inflow pipe

Dear all, after seeing the appearance of a dreaded water mark on the living room ceiling I traced the fault to a leak where the fill valve unit goes through the cistern to join the inflow pipe (apologies if I’ve got the names wrong). I emptied the cistern and installed a new fill valve unit...

Vaillant EcoTec Plus Overpressure means I'm under pressure!

Vaillant service agent came out today and; changed the fill loop valves, changed the PCB which failed just before he arrived and replaced an internal flexible pipe which had a worrisome bulge! All back up and running. Many thx to all for your support and feedback. Regards, Kevin.

Vaillant EcoTec Plus Overpressure means I'm under pressure!

As per advice unscrewed the grey plastic knobs and checked tightness with a small spanner, sadly all well so I suspect it may well be internals. I'll back brief when I know more. Regards, Kevin.

Vaillant EcoTec Plus Overpressure means I'm under pressure!

How bloomin annoying, after releasing the pressure before going to bed I popped down to check it roughly 6 hours later and you guessed it pressure has climed once again from 1.2bar up to 2.5bar. Something has clearly failed :(. A call on Monday then and a frequent use of the radiator key until...

Vaillant EcoTec Plus Overpressure means I'm under pressure!

Thanks for your speedy and informative replies. I checked the fill loop valves, two in number and both firmly in the closed position, well one was ever so slightly open I noticed bur both now facing me with the word closed on each clearly visible. Previous boiler was a storage tank unit, how I...

Vaillant EcoTec Plus Overpressure means I'm under pressure!

Dear all I have the following problem and would welcome your support. I have a combo boiler as described in the title. This morning I noticed that it was wet below the boiler and I then noticed dripping water from the underside of the boiler. I opened the access panel and saw that the pressure...

Tips for removing paint off brick work

Never paint when the missus has annoyed you! I painted the surrounding woodwork of the patio doors & unfortunately I've given the very edges of the brickwork a loupe White scarf in a few areas. I won't comment on the wifes assessment :(. Anyway I tried using a rag with White spirit - no real...

Leaking Isolation (?) Valve into the WC

Replacement service valve fitted earlier today, all seemed to go well just leaving it a few days to check for leaks. Noticed that the old valve, pictured in the first post, where the screwdriver head is pointing is actually a threaded joint and it was that that was leaking. The replacement unit...

Leaking Isolation (?) Valve into the WC

Ha! Not my choice, the wife covers such matters. Reference the tape, I can remove that easily enough and I've put in a new fibre washer. It just doesn't seem to be leaking from that point. If you look at the section below the nut which joins the ball valve it 'looks' like a sold piece of pipe...

Leaking Isolation (?) Valve into the WC

Gents, I have noticed what I've called an isolation valve which feeds the WC refil unit leaks. I thought it was something simple like a replacement seal however on putting a new unit it I've noticed the problem seems to be a bit more annoying! If you look at the attached image, in particular...
