    The lintel only seems to catch about 1/3 of the outer brick leaving 2/3 exposed. At first i thought there was no lintel!! have you ever seen this? I'm ssuming your can just cement the piers to the existing brickwork !?!

    With regards the original ceiling joists that are staying in place, ceiling hangers have been removed so would these ceiling joists need to be secured to the new floor joists? The ceiling joists are 3x2 and span around 3.2m??

    I was thinking along those line too. My main concern was getting the hanger at the right height, ie not touching the top of my downstairs ceiling and the same height as my other joists. So I think the timber hangers may be better suited.....
