    Triton shower question

Ring Triton, they will advise. All you need is a unit with the water and electrics coming in at the same places. I have used Triton for 15 years, alwats good service, and they have replaced damaged units for me with suitable replacements.

Shower trips MCB.. (edited, it isn`t an RCD) - update....

Well, finally located a new MCB as it is am older style, not used for 2 years. Electrician has changed it for us, so, fingers crossed, all will be well. We`ve had Triton check the shower twice, and an electrician do every test he can on the wiring and he says there is nothing wrong with it at...

Shower trips MCB.. (edited, it isn`t an RCD) - update....

Well, what a pullava. Electrician came at 7.30 am, bang on time. Did all the tests, told me what he was doing as he went, interesting, but soon forgotten ! Wiring is still very good, no problems there and no need to change it. Switch i put in is fine, no issues there. Fuse seemed...

Shower trips MCB.. (edited, it isn`t an RCD) - update....

yep, i`ve done the isolator myself, going to get the electrician to fix the mcb first, then come back to re-wire with 10mm. Haven`t had a proper shower for 10 days, so if he can do a quick fix now, then upgrade in 2 weeks when he has more spare time that`s fine by me.

Shower trips MCB.. (edited, it isn`t an RCD) - update....

Triton guy came today - said the shower seems all ok. He looked at the MCB, some resistance to flipping the switch up again, so he says it is most likely that. Got an electrician coming to have a look tomorrow at 7.30 am !! Initially he said he woudl have thought it was the shower, but...

Shower trips MCB.. (edited, it isn`t an RCD) - update....

Thanks guys. Got Triton Tuesday to check the shower and get it up and running, then got an electrician coming to test everything else - he thinks more is afoot than a shower fault. Will ask him to do the cable and MCB to be on the safe side. Thanks.

Shower trips MCB.. (edited, it isn`t an RCD) - update....

In and out - I mean the wires going into the switch from the supply, and out of the switch to the shower. i can see them in the loft just above the switch. They have been like it for 10 years or more. Just got of phone to daughter`s friends`s dad - an electrician !! He reckons it is the...

Shower trips MCB.. (edited, it isn`t an RCD) - update....

Earth conductor sleeved at all points ? If you mean the earth wire, i have just checked in the loft where the wires come through the ceiling, there does appear to be a centimetre or so of bare wires on both the in and out wires, which i assume is the earth one - but that would have always...

Shower trips MCB.. (edited, it isn`t an RCD) - update....

Forgot to mention, i changed the isolator switch but it still trips the fuse box... opened up the shower and nothing looks untoward - i stress a visual inspection only - ie no scorch marks or burnt wires... the RCD that flips does feel warm if i go straight down to re-set it though ?

Shower trips MCB.. (edited, it isn`t an RCD) - update....

I have a problem with my shower and need some thoughts. It is an 8.5 kw shower, has a pull chord isolation switch, and a push button on the shower to turn it on. One morning we pulled the isolator on, but no power. The RCD on the fuse box had tripped. re-set it, shower worked, but tripped...

    Re-grouting

I`m doing the whiole bathroom, tried the hand held tools - painfully slow. O got a dremel and its special grout removal bits, seems to work ok. Still takes time, but easier on the hands.........no real disasters yet, as long as you are careful it seems to be fine..... Dave

    New Grout yellowing

No, no bleach. I think it is just the fact that the bathroom has no window, and is in daily use, lots of steam from shower. It is acceptable, but just not as bright white as i expected. However, still better than the manky old stuff i`ve removed...

    New Grout yellowing

I decided to re-grout my whole bathroom due to old grout going mouldy over the bath, and generally discoloured elsewhere. Got the tools, doing it slowly bit by bit. Using a very good quality grout from a tile showroom/wharehouse place. Said i wanted white as white can be. Applied it...
