Thanks for the advice. Any idea of the cost of altering the drain invert so I can move the whole lot outside and comply with building regs?

    Moving internal soil stack

I want to move an internal soil stack from bathroom/kitchen (similar to a thread a previous thread posted two years ago) I have a few questions I would welcome advice with: 1) Could I just take the pipes from the bathroom (upper floor) outside and then go back inside on the ground floor...

    move internal soil stack

I want to do the same job, but all this talk about bends is confusing without a decent diagram. A few questions: 1) Why would you want to go outside, then back inside again, in the bathroom? 2) Could I just take the pipes from the bathroom (upper floor) outside and then go back inside on the...

Softus, chill man, I only asked a question, that's what this forum is for. Shame you cannot contribute in a sensible way, instead of constantly giving useless opinions.

Softus, you make a good point, but I still need to diagnose the problem. I presume, though I don't know for certain, that they tested with the method Stivino suggested, I need to ask. I presumed they knew what they were doing, but cold or hot engine test, again I don't know. If it is...

    back boiler fire fronts

Thanks for the reply Bripl. What if the fire front is removed and a vent is installed? As I said, the fire is never on, so effectively, it's just a vent anyway. Squiggy

    coolant loss

Hi, Last year I had my head gasket (& radiator, thermostat and water pump) replaced. Since then I lose about 1/2 pint of coolant per week (@ 100 miles per week). There is no obvious leak, the heating works fine, there is no obvious steam from exhaust, no mayonaise anywhere, and the garage say...

    back boiler fire fronts

I have the same problem as rachyb, and I don't see why I can't remove the fire front and leave the boiler in place. When the fire front is not on, effectively it is not there, i.e the gas supply tap isolates the fire from the boiler. I never use the fire, so why can't I get the fire front...
