BT NTE5 master socket entry colour codes

Thanks plugwash and cajar. A comprehensive reply and completely understandable. Blue pair will be first choice and the ones we have in our house are the orange 'back up'. So nobody touches these ??? Don't be so naive you other guys, next minute you'll be saying that you always get a qualifies...

BT NTE5 master socket entry colour codes

Thank you for cajar that actually posted a proper reply. Idiots that say 'it is nothing do do with yo'u are the equivalent of people that take their car to the manufacturer for repair or always call in a 'professional' to do DIY... OH I didn't notice (hint of sarcasm) the post was made by a...

BT NTE5 master socket entry colour codes

I have read that there are blue blue/white coming from the BT side of the master socket. HOWEVER my partner has the top one (B?) mainly white with orange bands and the bottom one (A?) mainly orange with white bands. What should be used on an NTE5 socket ? I know there are two types, one with...

    Can I avoid a bypass

Ok = seen the DU144 auto bypass. According to Honeywell is is not building regs for these to be fitted - presumably for new sites and it makes a lot of sense. The 'correct' solution would be to make sure the HW thermostat works and shuts off when the cylinder is hot AND (as suggested - thanks)...

    Can I avoid a bypass

There are no hot water/ch multiport. All there is is a two port that shuts off when the CH timer swiches off, at the same time as the boiler. It is this that I want to leave open. HOWEVER - if I can find an auto that will open up under pressure - that should do the same - it will be closed when...

    Can I avoid a bypass

I know why a bypass is normally used for a boiler overrun BUT I was thinking that I could remove the valve from the central heating so instead of going through the bypass the pump will continue to pump water through the radiators until the boiler is cool enough to shut off the pump. Reasons...

    Combined bath filler tap waste

Hi - I havew seen combined filler and pop up waste controls but they need either external taps, or a valve. Has anyone seen something that is an all in one so it has some sort of on off and temperature integrated? I'd do without the waste part if necessary I just want to use the single hole in...

    Combined shower and light switch

NO - I am not after one that is run from the same cable. What I was wondering is if anyone has seen a single ceiling switch operated by a pull cord (or two) that can take a feed for the shower 10mm and a completely seperate feed for the light. They must be separate because of the load, and one...

    Electric wiring

I was trying to post to a 'shower' question and noticed that it was locked due to abuse so thought I'd just make a couple of personal comments. There are loads of questions about what wiring to use for certain loads. If you don't know, or don't know where to find out (wickes for example) it may...
