    Chimney leak

yeh.. even a quick flash fix is likely temporary fix as like I'd mentioned I can count a few in street had chimney removal. Also a few have had the chimney lowered down where they removed about half the height. They were doing it closeby recently. Took a few days after scaffolding been. This...

Kitchen Roof in picture is 3.5m wide. Some years ago some local guy was doing work on it and he apparently used ladders across it to fix gutter I think (my elderly mothers house) hench the broken slates. Also I think there is damp like marks on the render as gutter is leaking. my question is...

    Chimney leak

Discovered this in attic. I'm assuming flash around chimney? It's between me and next door as house is a semi. Next door said his attic is fine. This tends to be bad during certain weather so I'd imagine it's a wind direction rain thing. Sometimes hardly anything during rain. A few house I've...

    Attic queries

Yeh, got no plans other than storage here (Maybe full attic conversion one day if i can afford it) So have left them alone. Attic queries

Hi Been adding some ceiling boards on those raised plastic legs you can get (bit crap but does the job I suppose). Anyone know what these are nailed.to the big roof joists. Few have come off, assuming they are to hold beam in place while they built around? House in 1920s. Wondered if to take...

    Has this got a seal?

yep :( If i rammed a pipe in with weld adhesive on I assume it wouldnt work as its probably not tight enough? Or maybe take pipe out (if it leaks) and put LOTS (well all around it) of silicon on it and put it back on.. frustrating

    Has this got a seal?

it seemed empty when i checked. I guess i need an exact same version to clean the inside and reinsert new, or is there a better way to seal it? I can get the silicon off if need be. I was thinking of a rubber seal like in the compression waste fittings but then this would probably not be tight...

    Has this got a seal?

Hi, Been sorting out a new sink, while doing found a healthy leak hidden away. I really dont want to mess with the soil pipe (stack?) but noticed there is no seal on the female attachment socket where the sink waste pipe goes in. Assuming there is one usually? Hence you can see I have...
