I have recently had a new Ferroli Sigma 60/100 boiler installed. The problem is that when the ch is on the boiler makes a chugging noise that vibrates through the house. The radiators in my new house have trv's on them. These valves have white caps on the top of the control knobs. However one has this cap missing and is showing 4 small holes in the top. What are the caps for? Do I need to source a replacement for the missing cap?

How do you test for either of these possibilities?

That was the first thing I checked. The cold water feed is definately connected correctly at the bottom of the tank and vent from the top. The cold water shower feed has been taken from the correct tank. I am sure the heat is coming up the cold water feed as the pipe gets quite hot.
