    Kettling boiler

Can anyone shed any light on this? Completely baffled how water can keep trickling out of the overflow yet the level in the header tank does not drop. Noise not getting any worse but symptoms persist!

    Kettling boiler

The header tank on the Boilermate II is connected directly above the main thermal store. When you say vent pipe in this instance would that be the pipe that connects the main store to the top of the header tank (i.e. the not the cold feed one)? Other than the cold feed in I don't see any...

    Kettling boiler

Hi all - wonder if you could shed some light on what is going on with my boiler. I have a Maxol Microturbo feeding a Boilermate II. Earlier in the week I had to drain down the entire system to replace a isolation valve on a towel radiator that was leaking. The drain down was fine, I checked...

Need R&T flush valve but can't find stockist

That is pretty much identical to the one I had in when I moved in a few years ago - exactly the same problem, seal had gone and it was hissing away letting water into the pan. No idea where they got the bathroom suite from, like you say the cistern is nice but quite unusual! I replaced mine with...

    New noisy bathroom fan

This looks spot on, just one question, cant work it out from the pictures, are they a slimline facia I.e sits around 10mm away from the wall as apposed to the ones which are an inch or more!?

    New noisy bathroom fan

Hi Just bought and fitted a new Vent-Axia 100 Silhouette. Has anyone else got one of these? To me it seems too noisy for which is not a cheap fan. I took the first one back earlier as I figured it must be faulty, but the 2nd one is just the same. The noise is seems to me to be just the...

    Repairing modern mixer tap?

Thanks! After inspecting, it's actually behind the red and blue plastic clip, just pops out. Thanks for your help, it pointed me in the right direction!

    Repairing modern mixer tap?

Hi, my bathroom tap has developed a slight leak which is slowly getting worse. If it was a standard tap it would be easy to fix, but alas it's not, its very similar to one of these: http://www.plumbtap.com/product/Axi_Monobloc_Basin_Mixer_4G3040_4G3040# The leak is coming from the...

Honeywell thermostat CM907 - turning optimisation off?

I fitted one of these last year - for your 10.30pm setting, you want to put this at something like 10 degrees, otherwise it's going to keep your heating on all night to keep the temperature at 19. Setting it to 10 basically means that unless the room drops 9 degrees overnight (very unlikely!)...

    Boilermate II problem

One thing I did not do once I had installed the new pump was bleed it - could an airlock in the pump reduce the flow hence the noise and banging when reduced to speed 2? I can't bleed it right now as the pump is too hot but can't think what else it could be, I've only changed a pump?!

    Boilermate II problem

Just to add to this, I actually think the noise is coming from the boiler, not the pump. Its almost like a sound of rushing water. Like I say it stops if you turn the pump down, but it starts kettling again.

    Boilermate II problem

When you're 99% sure, theres always the 1% chance you're wrong :-) So, replaced the pump and the banging has stopped and the everything seemed fine. This was until the temparature of the cylinder started getting upto temperature, and the new pump has started to make a hissing noise, which...

    Boilermate II problem

All the radiators were hot just before it started and there is still some warm water this morning so I'm not sure it's the cold feed. What's the best way to check the pump is running? Am I right in thinking you can take the bleed screw out from the middle and you can see if the motor is turning...

    Boilermate II problem

It's only just started happening so theres still hot water, however the noise is too loud to leave the power on so the cylinder is going to start cooling down overnight. My only confusion is that the pump is definitely vibrating, I'm not sure if this would be possible if it was clogged up...

    Boilermate II problem

Header tank is fine. The more I think about this the more I think it must be the pump. Just need to wait until the pipes cool down to check whether the pipe gets hot upto the pump but not after it. Would the pump still vibrate even if it is stuck/clogged up?

    Boilermate II problem

I can check it - what would cause this to deplete? The heating has been on this evening and all radiators are warm, although I have noticed that the cylinder is cool, but I put this down to the heated water being in the raditators.

    Boilermate II problem

Hi, sat downstairs earlier only to hear a loud banging coming from the boiler cupboard - a familiar noise that we had about 18 months ago which we resolved. The noise starts about 10 seconds after the boiler fires as soon as you turn the power on - its the noise of the water not being fed...

    Replacing Thermostat / Timer

Hi, just to complete the thread, I installed this last night, took me 10 minutes, worked like a treat. As you said, Live in A, swich live in B (which was a yellow sleeve!). House lovely and warm at 6.30 this morning! Thanks to D_Hailsham for his excellent advice.

    Replacing Thermostat / Timer

Thanks very much for the reply. I see the CM901 is a three wire connection (as it the current thermostat) where as the CM907 is only 2. I assume I will just need the live and switched live for this and isolate off the neutral? Just one other question, as I'll try to fit this one night...
