    Hi all, I'm in the process of buying a first floor maisonette, and the downstairs maisonette directly below has recently undergone refurbishment and had its old wooden bay windows replaced with new uPVC ones. (The house is an old 1910 semi-detached house that is now split into 4 x maisonettes)...

    Subsidence? Should I worry about these cracks (for a purchase)

    Hi, I've had an offer accepted on an old (1900) terraced property in probate. Spotted a few large cracks over windows at the rear of the house and similar ones in the bay of the front rooms (first and second floor). There is a tree in the neighbors garden fairly close to the back of the house...

    Buying house

    Hi, Hoping for some help with this one. I have seen a house that I want to put an offer in for, there are long cracks on the render at each side of the house, the neighbours and other houses in the estate have similar cracks, is this a sign of subsidence? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
