10mm or 6mm cable for single built-in oven and ceremic hob

Fitting the above and just want confirmation whether should be 6mm or 10mm cable.

Hob and oven on seperate dedicated loops with seperate above work surface switch and below surface connection boxes. Been advised needs to be 10mm cable but that looks awful thick! Does it have to be 10mm or is this just the best option?

It will depend on size of hob/oven normally marked in watts or Kw and also manufactures instructions.

Nothing on the instructions and can't check the appliances as they're in London and I'm in Leeds. I already have 10mm cable so just querying whether you're better going to large than too small to save the need of buying 6mm

A standard single oven will usually plug in using a 13 amp plug and socket.

Use 6mm² to supply the one cooker switch, from here, take a 6mm² to the cooker outlet below, and then a 6mm² from this to a socket for the oven. This is how mine is wired.

Your oven can be wired in heat resisting flex. But in all honesty, it doesn't get that hot behind an oven.

Never seen a cooker wired in heat resistant flex in my life, a length of poorly terminated 6 or 10mm2 T&E seems to be the gold standard these days!
