Hello Everyone
I am in the process of acquiring various tools and equipment for my home garage, mainly semi professional tools etc. I am looking into buying a larger compressor (ideally 200litres) and have seen a few for sale. I have noticed that most of the larger models require either a 16 AMP or 30 AMP supply. I have electricity in the garage that was installed fairly recently. My landlord doesn't know the 'spec'/output of the circuit but we are assuming it has a normal household rating. The installation was done by a professional electrician.
My questions are..
1) Is there any way of verifying the current rating by visual inspection of the installed equipment (The fuse box/wiring etc/apologies for the non technical terms)
2) If required how difficult would it be to 'upgrade' the circuit to accommodate the higher current demands and does it require a major financial investment to do so?
Apologies for the very basic questions but I am a complete novice at electrical issues within the home or (in my case) the detached garage. One thing is that the 'current' installation is fed from the house via a subterranean cable and it has a fuse box etc installed. I think there are plans to install a boiler in the future as well as a sink unit. My main issue are the current needs of the more professional tools I would like to buy.
