My Mira MK2 Sport Shower has stopped working. It shows the low pressure light and just dribbles a little bit of water out even when the shower head and hose to it has been taken off. I have checked that the filter is ok and tried blowing out any dirt out of the top of the shower (getting water everywhere
). The shower is fed by mains water.
Interestingly I can get it working for a while by turning on the baths cold tap (reducing the pressure at the shower slightly). The shower is fed from a pipe below the bath (which you stand in to use). By coincidence the stop cock has has it's position changed and the water is fed from a different direction. This made me paranoid it was something to do with the new plumbing. However, after looking around the web I am thinking it is probably a faulty Pilot Valve. I hear and see the valve shut off when it stops working after a time of running.
I just wanted to check the Pilot Valve is likely before ordering one at £40. Do they start locking shut under high pressure and open when that is reduced slightly, when they are going wrong? Or do you think the plumbing is a possibility? I think there is good pressure at the shower. Perhaps a higher pressure than before is the reason the valve has started playing up?
