A rubber thingy to aid making good.....

Hi,

I hear there exists a thing that is used to simplify making good around newly cut cutouts for backboxes - I was told it is some sort of rubber _thingy_ that sits inside the cutout - you make good up to it, let is set and you remove it by collapsing it inwards.

Sorry for the rather vague description! .....does anyone have an idea of what it is and better still where to source one?
