We are planning to replace our interior doors, and we’re considering round door knobs.

A few people have suggested that round door knobs can prove difficult for children - is this really the case?

Well think about it, a round knob is always gonna be more difficult to turn than a lever especially if its a bit stiff or the kid has wet hands. The elderly or anyone with a musculoskeletal problem affecting the hands/arms (such as arthritis) can have the same issue. Part M (disabled Building regulations) do not allow them in buildings other than dwellings for the same reason but its really up to you really. Unless you're kids are very young or you have many elderly visitors and you like them (the door handles) then do it.
