Hi, I’ve just moved in to a place and it has an old oil boiler that works fine.
It has had a new pump recently.
The boiler and pump power supply is just plugged in to a socket. So it’s either on or off.
Is it ok to add a basic control panel with a wireless room stat to this set up?
Any help would be appreciated.

If you can switch the boiler only on to get hot water and both on for heating there should be no problem.

Thankyou for your reply.
The boiler just runs the heating.
It has an electric Immersion tank.

That is unusual are you sure
But if that is how it is piped you will have no problem fitting a stat.

A hard-wired roomstat is no problem, but not sure about wireless. An old boiler won't have anything to receive signals from the stat. It would need a relay or something wired into the boiler/pump circuit. Does the wireless stat come with that?

Yes, wireless thermostats are supplied with a hard wired receiver

The wireless stat came with a small control box with is just power in,then power out which will wire straight to wires that was in the 3pin plug.
Thanks for all the advice
