Hi all,
I wonder if I could ask for some advice.
I have a sloping ceiling over the staircase in the all. This spans from the ground floor ceiling height to the 1st floor ceiling level. (See photo)
The house costs a small fortune to heat, and the hall is one of the coldest ares. I wonder if it would be possible for me to add insulation in the sloping roof void to reduce the heat loss over this large area?
I'm concerned about the need for adequate ventilation to prevent condensation build up, however I really can't determine how this might apply to my roof.
I can only access the sloping roof void from the main loft, as the sloping roof continues on to meet the ridge of the main roof above the 1st floor ceiling height.
The house was built in the 1930s and has a tiled roof without any membrane under the tiles.
I've added some photos of the roof void, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt.
