Advice on Finding Leak in System

Hi,

I recently got a new boiler installed, Worcester Greenstar 42CDi, and its working like a dream. The only problem is that the pressure steadily falls, in the past 2 months the pressure has fallen from 2bar down to 1bar, so I topped it back up to 2bar with the filling loop.

There must be a leak in the system somewhere, the last boiler I had also had this problem, but it wasn't a combi boiler so there was no pressure gauge, all I did was bleed the radiators that had air in them and it was ok again.

Do you have any ideas how I can find the leak, on my previous CH system it was the towel radiator in the bathroom which got cold at the top and one of the bedroom radiators. Could this be where the problem is?

Will definetly give this a go, cheers, any ideas if the leak is in the pipework under the floor?

you can get a leak detection spray from most plumbers merchants or the cheap alternative is just to make a soapy solution with some fairy (make it very thin) and spray it on all TRV's,Lockshields,joints etc.If there is a leak you should get a small bubble form.

Do wot????????????????????? Leak detector spray is for gas leaks.

Firstly if you live in a conventional 2/3 story house you should only be setting the cold pressure to 1 Bar (1.5 MAXIMUM).

If you have run the heating with the pressure at 2 Bar the safety valve may have opened (as it rises towards 3 Bar). Check there is not a slow leak the from the boiler safety valve pipe. Otherwise carefully check all radiator spindles (remove caps), radiator connections and pipework. Otherwise start lifting floorboards.

Can you explain just how this will show up a water leak ???
