Hi,

I'm looking to paint the front of my house as it is looking quite shabby/dirty. It has already been painted (quite some time ago) and is pebble dashed.
1. Is there an easy way of painting pebble dash? (a mate of mine once had a huge emulsion roller that looked like a shaggy dog- would this help?)
2. The windows are double glazed hardwood. The frames are in good condition but the stain/varnish is cracked. I want to gloss them so what is the best way of preparing?
Would appreciate any help before I bodge it!

Thanks,
Tony.

1/ If the pebbledashing isnt too pronounced a good deep pile roller will be ok and probably a block brush. If its deep and shap edged then a spray might be better taking care of vehicles and other properties etc.

2/ If the hardwood windows have had a lot of satin/varnish on them over the years it might be worth trying a heat lap to get soem of it off. A good rub down and priming with aluiminium paint, then undercoat and gloss. A Zinnser primer might also be useful.
