Hi Folks,
I need some advice, I turned on my heating this morning (Myson Apollo gas boiler, 9 years old) and after an hour it sounded like someone was kicking the boiler. It then started booming and the noise travelled around the house. I turned the heating off and an hour later restarted it. Now it is making the noise constantly. Any ideas?

Regards
Gavin

It sounds like it's boiling which could indicate scale in the boiler, or heat not getting away from the boiler. Is the pump running? Is the valve open? Does the system need bleeding?

Bet its the pump, is the pump very hot are the radiators upstairs hot? are the downstairs ones cold (assuming you do not live in a bungalow!!).

The heat seemed to travel around the house in spurts. So maybe its the pump. I tried starting it this morning and as soon as I turned it on the noise it starting groaning.

Thanks for your help.
Gavin
