2 split aircon units connected to RCD side. every time they are switched on they trip the 80a 30ma RCD.

Have they ever worked properly?

What was the trade of the person who installed them?

Were they put onto new or previously used circuits in the CU?

Why are they on the RCD side?

High inrush currents on Aircon fan unit at start up. Dont know why they were put on RCDside . In fact you usually have to stick em on a C type breaker to stop the breaker tripping on inital start up.

A big inrush current is unlikely to trip an RCD. It would trip an MCB.

What is the power rating of the air con units? What size MCB?

Please give as much info as you can, and even better take a few photos for us to see.

If the circuits are new, has the correct neutral bar been used in the CU?
