My Alpha CD24s started to lose pressure when off. I re-pressurised it my self, but it slowly lost pressure when off through the night. I called out the Home Serve guy who was pretty rushed but diagnosed it as very slow leak.
He did say i could repressurise it and use it if I wanted, simply keep it on all the time, so I did, and it did not lose pressure. Then i started switching it off, initially it was fine.however, a month later, its started depressurising again. The deporessurining has coincided with some very cold weather again, or is that coincidence?

Does this sound like a leak and if so how do you find such a small leak? Can anyone help

Have you checked the PRV vent pipe outside ( see FAQ ).

Have you watched the pressure when it warms up the rads?

Pressurise to 1.5 Bar and then watch the pressure rise as the rads warm up when CH is started. It should only increase by about 0.3 Bar.

If it increases a lot then the EXV may be failed or need repressurising ( see FAQ ).

The pressue is remaining in the green zone on the dial. When the heating comes on it does go up by about .3 Bar. It seems to be working ok at the moment but i've got the heating on longer again, it only seems to lose pressure when its off. Theres no evidence on water coming from the pipe outside, but I have just bagged it so I will see this evening. Thankyou help Tony
