alpha he cb 33 , in order to get hot water the central heating has to be on is this the diverter valve? is this a common fault? do you recommend a new syncron or full thing that is if it is a syncron motor can't remember

Does the boiler indicate a HW demand when the hot taps are turned on?

If not, I would check out the dhw flow switch first.

it does show a demand for hw yes

Ok. Just to recap.

Hot tap turned on, boiler hw demand indicator lights up, boiler doesn't fire up.

Am I correct so far?

Boiler always fires up for ch?

Once boiler has fired for ch does hot water last as long as it is firing for ch, or just a short burst of hot water?
