Needing new radiators (and piping -but not boiler) in house refurbishment....
Have two rooms where space might be a problem ...

One is kitchen ...timber suspended floorgoing plan to put down laminate or ceramic tile floor - thought maybe underfloor heating - is there a kind that is like a radiator (not electric) - thinking water running in pipes under floor with a thermostatic control on wall? (skirting board type not really suitable - looking to have cupboards around most of room)

Second is a box room/study - currently no radiator in there and will be a bit tight on space.... picked up a leaflet in B&Q with 'designer' ones - looking at ones that fit on the wall, mid way up, maybe in the corners ...thought for this space might be a good idea -
Do they work(heat efficiently)?
And in the pretty pictures they don't have any pipework showing...
so are they buried in the wall? (this would be on solid brick walls not partion) ? Would this cause problems (say it developed a leaking valve etc)? or would you have the pipe work externally (on display or boxed in)?

kitchen - use a fan-assisted plinth heater

boxroom - consider skirting radiator all round the room, if it won't be obscured by cupboards. or a high level fan assisted heater with circulate the warm air.

A high level radiator will just heat the ceiling.

Myson is the best known maker of fan assisted heaters, there are others.

Plinth heaters are great under units and take up no space.

love the no pipes comment

Had a custard that refused to pay as there were pipes to the boiler and none shown in the brochures.

Cost them nearly as much in Court costs as the job did.

The custard saw this lovely back boiler in the book and not a pipe in sight.

OP - you can get vertical radiators if you're limited in space, designer radiators are there to look pretty, they rarely emit much heat
