Another lintel question

Hi,i have dug up my foundations a basically the soil pipe is covered in concrete the building inspecter has said i have no need to break up the concrete and what i can do is bridge over the pipe using a concrete lintel,the extention i am building is 2 storey and the soil is clay one end of the lintel will sit on the exsisting foundation.How big or thick does this lintel need to be the span is about a metre or is there someway to find correct lintel required

Use a 100mm x 75mm p.c.c. lintel. If you are unlucky enough not to find the size you need then buy the nearest size and cut it.

Why a 1m span? Does the pipe pass through the wall at an angle?
 
cheers for that .I was mistaken in my mearsurent as i was looking at it as covering the whole expanse but now realise i can lay the concrete right upto the soil pipe either side of it and reduce the expanse consideably
