Quick n simple question... I want my hallway rad moving from directly under the stairs where the heat off it doesnt seem to spread so well, to on the hallway wall behind the backdoor where im hoping the heat will spread better in the hallway and up the stairs. The existing rad under the stairs is from when the house was built 40ish years ago. Should I move this rad or should I scrap it and buy a new one? Are newer ones more efficient?? Thanks

40 years ago domestic radiators would generally be simple panel types. Most today have fins welded to the backs of them so you get more surface area, better convection and higher output for the same face size radiator. So in that sense , yes they are more efficient
