Hi,
so in preparation for an artificial lawn, I’ve dug up my lawn, levelled it as much as possible and added 50mm of compacted type 1. This weekend I have laid a slab path through the centre of the lawn. Next step is to lay the binding sharp sand layer.
I would like the artificial grass base to be just below the finish height of the slabs. Problem is, this would require a sand layer of between 50mm-65mm (20mm slab + 30mm-45mm cement bed).
Is this too thick a layer of sharp sand?
Do I need to compact more type 1 before sand?
Could I have a achieve this height if I used granite dust instead?
many thanks for your help.
