[b]Resurface a concrete basement floor?[/b]

I am re-doing my basement and want to level the concrete floor. It was poured in the 70's and was painted over. But when it was poured, it wasn't levelled properly so the floor is very unlevel. What is the easiest and hopefully a cheap way of fixing this?
