Backfilling over drain

I have just replaced some of the salt glaze soil pipe with the PVC soil, now I am ready to backfill, do I need to put shuttering round the new soil or protect it with something?

Underground it`s a Drain pipe .Above ground it`s a Soil pipe.euphamism for ****
