Hi everyone

I am moving a radiator and was wondering whether it's new location is a bad idea.

It is in an attic bedroom with a sloping ceiling. The ideal location for it is about 1 ft away from the open stairwell going down to lower levels.

I am worried about it's capability to heat the room being so close to the stairwell. Do I need to be worried about this?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

No, don't worry, heat rises. As long as the radiator is suitably sized for the room all will be fine.

Heat rises so it won't make much difference where it goes, although I would keep the stairs clearer by moving it to the left a bit.

Thanks for the prompt replies. I was hoping it would be as simple as that, and there not to be some strange radiator thermodynamics to worry about :)

make sure you don't put the trv on the stairs side. Bound to get kicked/knocked at some point.

Radiator position is fine, as far away from the stairs as possible is handy to avoid barking you shins though. Rooms under the roof can be quite a bit colder than under a ceiling so oversizing it a bit would not hurt if you have got enough room to fit a bigger rad.
